Neerabup has larger semi-rural blocks, so there is often room for a generous patio, and some areas may be bushfire-prone, which can affect the materials you can use.
My Patio designs, documents and builds patios in Neerabup and surrounding suburbs, and looks after the paperwork from the first sketch to the final inspection.
We build skillion patios, gable patios, flat roof patios, pergolas, gazebos and carports. Call 0420 361 450 for a free quote.
In Western Australia, most patios, pergolas, carports and similar structures need a building permit before work starts. In Neerabup, applications go to the City of Wanneroo. Your design also has to meet the planning rules for your lot, such as boundary setbacks and open space, and some structures need extra approvals, so it pays to check early.
My Patio designs and builds your new gable patio, skillion patio, flat roof patio, carport, pergola or gazebo, and prepares the drawings and documents for your City of Wanneroo building application.

Building permit: not needed for a freestanding patio of 10 m² or less and no more than 2.4 m high. Any patio attached to another building needs a building permit, whatever its size.
Planning approval: needed for any variation to the Residential Design Codes.
Setbacks (most R20 and R30 lots): 1 m from the side boundary to the post for patios up to 14 m long, and 1.5 m if longer; 1.5 m from a secondary street. Posts can sit on the boundary with eaves, gutters and roof at least 500 mm away if the patio is no more than 10 m long and 2.7 m high and sits behind the primary street setback.
Fire separation: 900 mm from the patio roof to a side or rear boundary, or between a standalone patio and the dwelling.
